When “good enough” didn't hold up

Stefan Fiedler, CEO
LinkedIn
Stefan started his career deep in the industrial world, right where code meets heavy hardware and every millisecond matters. Working in that environment taught him a lot about practical reality. He saw firsthand how operators struggled with clunky interfaces, and how easily teams could accept "good enough" fixes when systems felt too bloated to change.

That friction is exactly why he started twobrains. He didn't set out to build a massive agency or chase venture funding. He simply wanted to build software the right way—grounded in precision, depth, and genuine engineering standards rather than rushed timelines.

Stefan still writes and reviews code every single day. Not because he's trying to micromanage, but because he truly loves the craft. To him, performance isn't a bullet point for a pitch deck; it's a discipline practiced line by line.

Today, twobrains is a small, focused group of engineers who share that same mindset. They build tools that are fast, intuitive, and built to last — and they stay right there to support the work long after hitting the deploy button — to focus on what matters most: helping teams solve complex problems through clean, intentional engineering.

And the people who join him, join for the same reason.

Experience across disciplines, focused on one standard

Our work is shaped by real-world experience from very different technical backgrounds — from AAA game development and medical robotics to financial research, industrial systems, and governmental operations. Different domains, different constraints, different ways of thinking. That breadth helps us solve complex technical challenges with depth and perspectives others simply don't have.

Software Developer C#

Location:
Munich, Full-time
Built for people who build things right.

twobrains develops high-performance industrial software — tailor-made systems that keep machines talking, factories running, and data moving. We combine technologies from visualization and real-time environments to build software that delivers long-term value in demanding industrial settings.
We’re engineers who care about precision, process, and technically elegant solutions. No chaos, no drama — just disciplined collaboration and software built to perform.
Now we’re looking for a Software Developer C# (.NET / WPF) who shares that mindset.

The role:

You’ll develop Windows applications that power sophisticated industrial software systems — the kind that solves measurable problems in real production environments.
From understanding a customer’s initial challenge to evaluating approaches, building prototypes, and delivering final implementations, you’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle.
You’ll work closely with experienced developers across different disciplines to create software that is stable, high-performance, and thoughtfully engineered.
We move quickly, but deliberately. Expect ownership, trust, and the freedom to solve problems your way — as long as it works flawlessly.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop Windows applications using C# /.NET
  • Contribute throughout the full software lifecycle — from requirements to deployment
  • Build sophisticated, stable, and high-performance applications
  • Collaborate across disciplines to create technically elegant solutions
  • Contribute ideas, evaluate approaches, and help shape implementation strategies
  • Own your code — from concept to delivery
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong programming skills in C# /.NET
  • Experience with WPF / XAML
  • Passion for clean code and technically elegant solutions
  • A structured, proactive, and self-motivated way of working
  • Strong communication skills in German or English
Nice to have
  • Experience with C / C++
  • Understanding of multithreaded software architectures
  • Experience working in industrial or high-performance software environments

Why twobrains

We’re not a startup chasing buzzwords. We’re an engineering team building software that performs where it matters — in real industrial environments. Our team is small, experienced, and deeply technical. We prefer lean hierarchies, transparent communication, and people who enjoy solving difficult problems properly. Expect versatile projects, modern tooling, exposure to different industries, room to grow through learning and training — and enough trust to try things, improve, and get better. If you want to learn, create, and build software that matters, we'd like to hear from you: curious@twobrains.com
